Bio

Bahghi is an Amsterdam-based, multi-instrumental recording and performing artist. Born into an Eritrean household, her musical journey began at the age of four as a classical violinist.

Touring several European countries as a member of the Amsterdam Youth Symphony Orchestra and attending a young talent program at her music school, nourished her early music career.

Falling in love with jazz at age fifteen resulted in a new passion and a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Vocals at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2019.

This is also where she picked up songwriting, arranging and producing. After graduating, she began releasing her own material, sometimes as a solo artist and sometimes in collaboration with others.

Bahghi’s songwriting can be described as highly personal and vivid, serving as a kind of soundtrack to her life. Her debut single ‘25’ (2020) is the perfect ‘coming of age’ single in collaboration with her younger brother Aaron Yemane.

Her debut EP ‘Sunshine’s Got The Blues’ (2021) is a home recording of arranged repertoire co-produced with Vincent Arp. The same year she released ‘This Room’ as a follow up solo EP with original material.

The live studioalbum, All One (2022), showcases collaborations with acclaimed jazz artists Rory Ronde and Ronald Snijders.

Throughout the releases of larger bodies of work, Bahghi continues to release singles as she carves out a unique path in life.
